Edged weapons are not only deadly but they are everywhere and readily accessible to everyone. Think about items nearby to you as you read this: pocket knife, kitchen knife, letter opener, pair of scissors, screwdriver, or a box cutter. As martial artists we have to prepare ourselves to survive a blade assault. This class will assist you in that endeavor by focusing on practical defensive concepts for stopping a real blade attack and debunking some of the myths associated with knife defense. During the class, students will learn basic defensive blade skills. The session will focus on straightforward defense techniques with a higher percentage of success. There will be stress-based scenario training during the class so students can see how they respond under the pressure of an attack. This class will cover distance and target protection from an edged weapon and many other concepts.  Required equipment: – Water – Notebook and pen – Athletic clothes / clothes that allow movement
